Glucosio: App Review

Description

Glucosio is an innovative new software that can be utilized by persons diagnosed with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

“This free, permission-based, open-source platform app tracks numerous health features including cholesterol, blood pressure. A1C, and even ketones.”

You have the option to choose if you’d like to share your anonymous, tracked health data. The open source platform requests your permission to share your anonymous health information with diabetes researchers. You may choose to keep the information from the multiple tracking features private, while someone else may choose to allow their information to be released anonymously to help diabetic researchers improve the mission of understanding and reducing the detrimental symptoms of type 1 and type 2 diabetes.

Origin

The genius behind Glucosio was a free and open-source software contributor who was diagnosed with diabetes. While there are numerous apps to help ease the lives of those who live with diabetes, the creator noticed none existed for tracking glucose and other data in a free and open-source platform. He acquired the support of other open-source software contributors and the gap in diabetic metrics sharing was closed by the creation of Glucosio.

User-Friendly Interface

Glucosio is a completely new take on user-friendly. Primarily, you are asked to select your target goals in your lifestyle choices with type 1 or type 2 diabetes. Then, you set reminders that allow you to track your goals and maintain them. What if your phone gets damaged? Do you lose all that information and progress you’ve made? You won’t with Glucosio; it allows you to backup all of your tracked data to Google Drive.

Advancing Diabetic Studies through Glucosio

The tracked data are the important health metrics to stay aware of when dealing with type 1 and type 2 diabetes. These include cholesterol, A1C, body weight, ketones, blood pressure, and more. The modern interface of Glucosio that tracks all of this pertinent data was not just constructed from health professionals in the field of diabetes. It was designed using feedback from actual people with diabetes. This way you can rest assured the features that track your health information created by others who have gone through similar struggles. The app gets even more personalized and sophisticated through its use of bolus and basal tracking. There are dozens of apps that track your health information, and even ones specifically for diabetics. The true uniqueness of Glucosio is that it gathers data using an interface created by people with diabetes, and, ultimately, aims to improve the lives of those affected with type 1 and type 2 diabetes with the fuel of permissible data through an open-source platform.
