Diabetes Pilot Pro: App Review

Description

Sometimes in life, the best choices are the simplest ones. Simplicity is an art and embracing, accepting, and exploring it can help you become more in tune with your personal health. However, when you’re in an airplane, we know you want the pilot to do one thing and one thing only: fly the plane to the best of his or her ability. So we don’t judge you if you decide to not look into every one of the Diabetes Pilot Pro features. Its primary purpose serves quite well and may be more than enough for you.

Overview

“A guaranteed upgrade from the previous versions of Diabetes Pilot, Diabetes Pilot Pro is designed with all types of diabetic tracking in mind.”

If you want an app strictly for keeping you on track in your weight, medication, glucose, and more, it is here to serve. If you wish to make more use out of its collaborative features, then the ‘food record’ feature gets you more involved and puts your daily nutritional habits at the forefront, explaining their effect on the other factors of your diabetic health. Simply titled ‘report,’ this report feature uses customizable graphs and can email, save, or print them directly from the app. Again, your choice if you choose to venture further into its massive capabilities.

Pilot Pro Rundown

The featured screen gives you everything you need in terms of numbers that makes sense to you. These numbers let you know you’re doing ok or tell you that you can do better in your health activities. The ‘rundown’ includes weight, medication, glucose, and food, taken into account multiple times a day. You know when one meal, a missed medication dose, or some lack of activity can cause detrimental effects on your health, so monitoring these factors throughout the day is essential.

Food Database

The integrated ‘food database’ is a streamlined system for tracking your carbs, proteins, calories, fats, and cholesterol. Its ease of use is separated by meal based on what time you consume that meal during your day. You can get even more interactive by scanning the barcodes of different foods and seeing how they fit in with your personal goals. You can even estimate what your insulin levels will be after you consume the meals and foods from the database. Doesn’t get any simpler than that, does it?

Reports

The ‘reports’ section of Diabetes Pilot Pro goes a bit further in depth. You can set reminders and monitor your A1C, while seeing your glucose averages from the past 7, 30, 60, and 90 days. This may seem a bit too in-depth for your simple, uncluttered taste. However, once you become intrigued with and knowledgeable about your personal health, nutrition, and food, you’ll want to analyze the numbers. Knowledge is power, and we know you want as much power over your life as possible while living with diabetes.
